Best Overall Labradoodle Clipper – Andis’ Excel Pro

When I tested this device on my labradoodle, I found it to be an excellent clipper. One that has been designed for both professional groomers and dog owners. I consider it to be the best device I tested, providing a combination of power, precise cutting tools, and quiet operation.

The Excell Pro from Andis has a powerful motor that made cutting through my Labradoodles dense and curly coat much easier. These clippers smoothly cut through any obstructions they met because of this alone, this is a worthwhile investment.

The Excel also came with several detachable blades that will allow me to easily switch and clean them with no additional tools. This extra versatility makes the design of the clipper even better.

While this device is not the smallest on the market, they allowed for this by having an anti-slip grip which compensates for its additional bulk. Because of the additional power that this device offers, it doesn’t come in a cordless model, even though cordless clippers are becoming more popular as owners believe they’re more convenient. I find having to change out the battery and work with a much-reduced power range isn’t always ideal.

Pros

  • Perfectly designed for grooming your Labradoodles coat.
  • The blades are easy to change and clean.
  • It comes with dependable and long-lasting ceramic blades.
  • The device cuts just like a professional clipper.
  • Economically designed and constructed.
  • Made in the USA.
  • Comes in a variety of different colors.
  • It’s on/off switch is well placed and easy to operate.

Cons

  • You need to be careful of the blades as they may heat and irritate your Labradoodles skin.
  • The power cord could be longer.
  • Some people don’t like the position of the buttons.

Best Professional – Oster Clipmaster Pro

The Clipmaster from Oster is a powerful cordless clipper, I think it is ideally suited for clipping your Labradoodles coat and offers an impressive power range up to 3000SPM. It was noticeable that they design it to be used on horses, cats, and other livestock. This extra power meant it was more than capable of comfortably trimming my Labradoodles coat.

The battery operated for an impressive 120 minutes of a full charge and is fully compatible with all of Oscar’s A3 blades. If you are interested in doing some detailed trimming of your labradoodle in some clever fashion, the machine is more than capable of delivering. These machines come in two models that can work at variable speeds of 700 to 3,000 SPM or at a single speed of 3000 SPM. This is a great tool for either professional or amateur groomers. I found that it ran quiet and cool for the two hours as stated. Its adjustable tension knob allows me to quickly move from efficient to quick heavy-duty mode to low duty.

Pros

  • Offers complete freedom of movement because of its cordless design
  • You can extend the service of the device because of its rechargeable batteries
  • Provides a highly versatile clipping experience
  • Fully compatible with a series of blades that come from Oster

Cons

  • Only designed to work on US electrical outlets

Best Cordless – Wahl Professional Bravura

Grooming your Labradoodles coat not only makes them look good, but it helps them feel more comfortable too. If you’re looking for a strong and reliable clipper, then this device from wow provides an excellent solution.

People delivering professional results amateur clippers this cordless device from wow combines durability and power with a lithium battery Innovation that offers nearly unreliable cutting performance from a cordless device.

Its five and one blade system is as powerful as it is quiet and the lightweight design of the device means it will operate after 90 minutes on a full charge. I found this can be done at full speed onto the battery and is completely drained.

This device also features a 60-minute quick charge ability meaning that the downtime between the battery dying and your clipper working again it’s really reduced. Some people like the fact that this device can be used to cuddle horses, goats, and dogs, meaning that if you have other animals that need to be clipped they’ll save you some money. Not an issue I have. (Yet) The pack itself comes with a blade oil case charging stand cleaning brush, six guide combs, and a charger.

The device’s motor has been tested up to 5500 SPM, so it doesn’t lack power and it’s capable of dealing with any issues with encounters on your Labradoodles quote. As we mentioned previously despite this power, it doesn’t vibrate or make too much noise meaning your dog will usually not be too irritated by its use.

Pros

  • Comes with a 1-year warranty
  • The device runs quietly
  • Can be used in corded or
  • It charges quickly

Cons

  • A little pricey

Good Value – Oster Golden A5 Two-Speed

After looking at some of the top models of pet clippers in the world choosing the one that offers the best value for money is difficult. But of the devices, I have tested Oster golden A5 to be one of the most suitable clippers for my labradoodle.

I’m always a little skeptical when the word golden is added to a device but as soon as you use this you notice that the durable body, cryogenically treated blades, and high torque motor that had been designed stand the test of time. It cut my dog’s coat with ease and never caused it a second discomfort.

After only a few minutes of usage, there’s no denying this delivers a comfortable and consistently powerful trim to your dog’s coat. The blades cut well, so whatever cryogenic treatment they gave them seemed to work. You also have the feeling that they design this clipper to last, It is a heavy device and despite its size, people have nothing but positive things to say about how comfortable it handles.

As with any powerful professional-grade dog tripper when you’re clipping your labradoodle you should know there’s a slight learning curve, attached to using these blades. But after a few false starts, it’s nothing too extreme. Start on an area of your pooch that can easily be cleaned up. Once you’ve been used to it your dog will be happy enough to sit for the whole process.

The only negative I could see on this heavy-duty clipper is that it weighs close to 2 lb making it on the heavy side, but the weight is down to its durable design meaning you should get years of usage out of it if not even decades.

Pros

  • Very versatile
  • Manufactured in the USA
  • Features a high-speed motor
  • Strong and durable design

Cons

  • A little bulky

What to Look for When Choosing the Best Labradoodle Clippers

One of the first things you should look for when trying to choose the best labradoodle clipper is the rotary speed per minute of the device you’re working with. The higher this number the better it will allow you to smoothly cut through your labradoodle’s coat dealing with any hard patches.

You can choose from either.

A single-speed clipper which works quite well for novices and tends to not heat up as quickly as the variable speed options

A variable speed cover will offer you a higher level of versatility and give you the opportunity to get adventurous with your dogs cool

Key Characteristics to Consider When Looking for the Best Labradoodle Clippers

The Motors Power and Speed

When cutting your Labradoodles coat you want a clipper. that is powerful enough to comfortably work with denser dog coats. The RPM of the device is important for how often the blade will move a high-end dog chippers should offer high rotations permission but of power without creating too much noise or vibration

When you’re using the device at full speed, you want to ensure your dog does not cause any discomfort by vibration generated by the clippers.

Noise, Vibrations & Heat

Obviously any clipper I buy for my labradoodle. is going to have a motor that rotates to drive the clippers’ blades. Any motor is going to generate heat transfer. the faster it moves the warmer it can become. The more powerful delivery you buy, such as Discomfort caused by heart blades or the vibration of the machine irritates your dog, a problem I didn’t encounter as fella is well accustomed to being groomed at this point. You really want a machine that is powerful enough to cut your dog’s coat but doesn’t create noise or vibrations

Weight and Size

Another factor you need to consider is the weight size of the paper that you are purchasing. Lightweight clippers would be ideal but because of this you are usually getting less power and if it is a battery-operated device it probably won’t last very long.

On the flip side, the top-end high-quality professional papers are heavier and can be used for much longer, they’re also far more durable and will last for years so you need to find a balance light device. Usually the heavier device the more stable it is.

Cordless vs Corded Clipper?

Despite the fact that many people naturally choose cordless dog clippers for their Labradoodles because they appear to be easier to use and more convenient, especially when you’re trying to reach more tight spots on the coat. And the cordless clipper is more convenient,

But there are some trade-offs as most will work for under an hour and you will have to take a break to recharge the battery. Depending on your Labradoodles coat you may end up charging it more often than not and this will eventually cause the battery to wear out. Cordless devices are more convenient but they are also less powerful and will work much slower than according to the device.

Because a corded device has a constant source of power energy is not limited and it can work at much higher levels than a cordless device. I love the fact they offer you this extra bit of power, notably more powerful, but they are heavier and less convenient.

Whether you buy a corded or a cordless clipper will most likely be down to preference. Finding a device that best suits your labradoodle, shouldn’t be difficult, to be perfectly honest I have both a corded and a cordless device excuse me the best of both worlds.

Choosing the Right Blades is Vital

Quality blades available for dog clippers have improved enormously in the last few years, stronger alloys and laser technology have been used to create sharper and more consistent blades.

Some brands allow blades to be interchanged because the price for these dog clippers has dropped. But some more professional-grade clippers only allow you to use blades designed by the manufacturer. These devices remain expensive. Once again choosing a clipper that allows for interchangeably cheaper blades or ones that require specialist blades security now to have frequently you intend to take your dog’s fur.

Regardless, I recommend that you choose a device the supports ceramic blades when looking for the best labradoodle clippers, although they’re more expensive; they don’t conduct heat as easily as a steel blade, making them more comfortable to use on your labradoodle.
