If you’re on the fence about getting a Labradoodle, here are 7 reasons why everybody needs a Labradoodle!
Labradoodle Owners Are Less Likely To Develop Allergies
A lot of families avoid getting a dog due to a fear of allergies, but why exactly is that? In a 2011 study in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, they concluded that children who are raised with dogs in the home are at a smaller risk of developing allergies later in life, compared to kids from homes without dogs.
The study also showed that kids from families with cats have a higher risk of developing allergies as they grow older.
So it’s not a fear of allergies towards pets that should keep you from getting a dog – on the contrary!
A Labradoodle Encourages You To Be More Active
You’ve probably heard this before, but it’s true – dog owners live a more active life, and are often also in better shape than people who don’t own a dog.
This comes naturally when there are several daily walks on the schedule with a dog in the home. But actually, dogs are capable of motivating you to exercise even more.
Studies have shown that dogs help keep their owner active and healthy throughout their entire lives. One of the reasons for that is that most dog owners get accustomed to the wind and rain, and doesn’t allow those minor annoyances to prevent them from going outside.
A Labradoodle Makes You More Social
An English study in the behavior of dog owners shows that they are definitely more outgoing and social.
Dog owners have a larger tendency to talk with other people than non-dog owners. The reason is that your dog becomes a natural point of attention for a conversation and in most cases having a dog will bring positive vibes from the people you meet on your way around town. Both from kids and adults alike.
When going for a walk with your dog, and you meet other people doing the same, or just somebody who really wants to pet your dog, talking with them becomes natural in ways that don’t happen when you’re on the bus or going shopping by yourself.
Labradoodle Owners Have Better Mental Health
In the same study from the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, the researchers could conclude that pet owners also have added psychological advantages. In the study, 217 people had to answer a bunch of questions regarding their mental health, personality, and affiliation with others.
The study revealed that the pet-owners in every single case were happier, healthier, and overall more satisfied compared to people who didn’t have pets. According to the researchers, this is probably because most pets are great at giving social support to their owners.
A Labradoodle Is A Faithful And Loyal Companion
Your Labradoodle will usually get sad when you leave the house, and bounce around in complete bliss when you arrive back home. It’ll always listen and wag its’ tail, no matter what you’re saying.
A strong and special bond will often happen between a dog and its’ owner, but, it’s important to point out that mutual loyalty is required for this. If a person doesn’t care for their dog, the dog will most likely not care for its’ owner either.
Remember that love and happy feelings have to be returned. If you’re able to give your dog these things in large amounts, you’ll end up with a loyal companion that will walk through fire and hell for you.
A Labradoodle Is Capable Of Reducing Stress
Spending time with a dog is a highly efficient method to reduce stress, especially among young people. An American study has just revealed that.
Not only did the participants in the study report back that they were less stressed from spending time with mans’ best friend, but they also felt more energized, more focused, and had an increased sense of happiness. This is compared to the other side of the study where those without dogs reported nowhere near as good an effect.
This proves that goofing around with a dog, and petting them can help divert your thoughts from everyday issues and overwhelming responsabilities.
It’s important to remember, that even though the above reasons make it seem mighty tempting to adopt a dog, there are also a lot of responsibilities with being a dog-owner. Adopting a dog is a huge decision, that stands to last for many years ahead, and adding a new member to your family should always be well considered.
Before you chose to adopt an adorable Labradoodle puppy to your family, you should first and foremost consider just what exactly is required. And be honest with yourself if you feel like you truly have the time and patience required.
Owning a dog is both a fun and rewarding experience, but at times also highly frustrating, and that is something you should be prepared for.
A Labradoodle Provides Comfort And Security
Even if Labradoodles aren’t exactly known as the best guard dogs, just having one by your side will help you feel safer.
If you really make the dog a part of your family and give it all your love and affection, it will see you as a part of its flock, which means it will do everything it can to protect you.
