1. Dog-Owners Are Less At Risk At Developing Allergies
A lot of families will choose to not get a dog, due to a fear of allergives, but why is that actually? In a study in the Journal of Personality and Social Psycholog from 2011, researchers concluded that children who grew up with one or more dogs in the home, had a smaller risk of developing any allergies later in life, compared to kids who grew up in a home without any dogs.
The study also showed that children who grew up with cats in the home had a larger risk of developing allergies later in life.
What this shows is that a fear of getting any allergies to pets, shouldn’t hold you back from getting a dog – on the contrary!
