Labradoodles are one of the most popular dogs owned by people, but how big is a mini Labradoodle? They are loved because of their adorable appearance, size, and playful nature. They are usually small to medium-sized dogs whose antics resemble much of toddlers. It is one reason why they are so loved- they also love to cuddle when they get tired of prancing around, much like little kids.

Mini Labradoodles will grow up to 14-16 average inches and weigh around 15-25 pounds, depending on their age. Their size is smaller as compared to other Labradoodles since they were obtained by crossing the Miniature Poodle with the Labrador Retriever.

Mini Labradoodles are also sought-after for their sweet demeanor. They are very well-mannered and are often called designer dogs- since they were tailored from two different parent breeds of the breeders’ choice.

Mini Labradoodles can cost you, depending on where you are getting them from. They are usually found at animal rescue shelters- so even if you have to get on a waiting list to get one of those, it is worth the wait.

About the Mini Labradoodle

The Mini Labradoodle, also sometimes called mini Doodle, gets their mini size from one of its parents, i.e, the Toy Poodle or mini Poodle. They were originally bred for the purpose of providing companionship and because of their adorable size.

Labradoodles first came into popularity sometime in the 1980s in Australia. They were originally bred for the purpose of discovering a hypoallergenic dog breed- since many people were sensitive to dogs.

In the case of the mini Doodle, there are lots of coat color possibilities, owing to both their parents’ breeds. However, the issue of shedding is greatly minimized as compared to other Labradoodles. Usually, mini Doodles have a shaggy and fluffy coat all over their body.

Miniature Labradoodles don’t always have the same size, as different pups tend to take after different parents. Sometimes, what might look like a small Labradoodle as a puppy might grow to be well beyond what is considered the ‘medium’ size for Labradoodles.

The best way to get a mini Labradoodle is to look specifically for a second-generation mini Labradoodle. This way, you can ensure that the size would remain roughly the same even as they grow into adulthood. However, be prepared to realize that each pup will have unique characteristics and won’t necessarily be the same as another.
